After a couple of years in Bloem, we thought it a good idea for James to start blending in .... and not draw to much attention to himself, so we looked for some "local" clothes. See what dangers we have to live with? James and the dog taking a little nap. My first year at university and I was chose to represent Kovsies at the SASSU (South African Student Sports Union) held in Potchef this year and thanks to my sponsers mom and dad I could go. It took as 4 hours to drive there and find out that someone didn't pay our money in time so they thought we were'nt coming and then had no place to stay. A senior student at Potch offered us accommodation right next to the campus, which we though was great until we saw the girls had to sleep in a room not bigger as our bathroom back home and the guys in a caravan and that for R70 per day per person! We found a very nice place and they actually gave us student discount. Another sign at the gym in Potch.
The badminton went on for 6 days. I played singles and doubles. We played against 2 univ everyday and ended up in 3rd place with Tuks 1st and Puk 2nd.I'm now officially ranked 6th in the SASSU league, which I don't think is too bad. I want to thank my sponsors again and hope they will sponser me for the volleyball SASSU too.
